Ferroresonance occurrence represents a very dangerous phenomenon to electric power systems. Concerning the recent trend of applications grid-connected wind farms, this can lead undesired overvoltages stressing farm components. In paper, ferroresonance are studied and mitigated for farm. Single-pole switching breaker is considered, where it most famous reason behind transient events in During period, voltage network increased more than three times level associated with harmonics. Surge arrester suggested mitigate overvoltages, which coordination setting its residual selected be 1.2 nominal value. Evaluation dynamic interaction installed surge investigated, mitigation attained, successfully. Furthermore, magnitudes harmonics created due reduced by installing arresters, but they not diminished completely. However, arresters found under stress if their dissipating energies exceed withstand capability. The simulations carried out using alternative program/electromagnetic program (ATP/EMTP), waveforms digitally processed MATLAB software.
